DOMAIN NAMES > TRANSFER

Transfer a domain name is easy as long as you follow our instructions.

Non-AU Domain Transfers (TLDs: .com .net .org .info .biz, etc.)
1. Please ensure that your current domain name Registrant Contact and Administrative Contact are in your name and the email addresses can be accessed by yourself.

2. You should transfer the domain name at least 7 days before the domain name expiry date as domain transfer takes time. It can be anytime between 4 days to 7 days. If your domain name expires before the transfer completes, there could be problems with the transfer.

3. The Domain Transfer fee must be paid in advance. Any unpaid transactions will not be processed until the payment is cleared.

4. Domain Transfer for Non-AU Domain (TLDs) will automatically add one year to your existing expiry date.

Australian Domain Transfers (.com.au .net.au .org.au .asn.au id.au)
1. A current valid Domain Password is required to initiate the domain transfer. This password is not the one you use to logon to your domain control panel, it is a separate password for the purpose of domain transfer and personal identification only. If you are unsure of what your current Domain Password is, you can obtain this information from your current domain name provider, or simply click here to visit the automatic password retrieval service.

2. You should transfer the domain name at least 5 working days before the domain name expiry date as domain transfer takes time. It can be anytime between 2 days to 5 days. If your domain name expires before the transfer completes, there could be problems with the transfer.

3. The Transfer does not incurr any cost if your domain name is not expiring in the next 3 months. The current expiry date will not change. However if your .au domain name is expiring within the next 3 months, you have the option to also renew the domain name at the cost a standard .au domain registration price. If you choose to renew the domain name at the time of transfer, you are required to pay the domain registration fee prior to the transfer.
